The kids went off to school this morning. I have an 8th grader, 5th grader and Kindergartener this year. I'm feeling super old! The boys didn't really want to be photographed and didn't really need me, so it felt a little anti-climatic for me. They saw some friends and were off. "Bye mom. Love you. See you after school!" was all I heard as they popped right back into their old schedules. Bryn was a little more exciting being in Kindergarten this year. She goes everyday in the afternoons. So we got her ready after lunch. She was a little nervous. She wanted me to stay with her. I drew a little heart in the palm of her hand and kissed it so she would know I was thinking of her while she was in school. I got a few good pix of the kids before and after school. Can't believe how they grow every year! Thank goodness for amazing teachers...my kids came home just thrilled with the teachers they get to spend their year with! Kudos to all you awesome teachers out there...you make the world go round! Also, for those of you wondering why Bryce chose a bright pink t-shirt for his first day of school outfit...he didn't. He is what's called a WEB leader (an acronym for "Where Everybody Belongs"). He was nominated by teachers and had to submit an essay and then was chosen from there to be a WEB leader. He is one of 10 eighth grade boys chosen for this opportunity. He gets community service hours and so it's a pretty cool program. The shirts were a mandatory part of their first day of school duties. Good thing he looks good in flourecent pink!
