Okay, maybe it's not a good life analogy, but it's what happened at our house this year. So... we're still new to this gardening thing and I learned that 1 or 2 cucumber plants are plenty for next years garden. This year I had about 5 or 6 plants and therefore...an overabundance of rather beautiful cucumbers. Luckily we know a guy...Jason Padilla, who actually learned his way around a kitchen from his awesome of a cook mom. He came over and
schooled us on how to make and can dill pickles. I'm a picky dill pickle girl, so I was a bit skeptical that I would even like them, but they turned out amazing! So we have spent the last 3 weekends canning our homemade pickles. Good thing they have a shelf life of about 5 years because we have about 70 jars to eat! We still have cucumbers growing too! Whew! So we've built up our pickle food storage.....time to move onto our massive amounts of tomatoes. They are still in the ripening process, but when they are ready, we'll be back slaving in the kitchen over a hot stove making salsa and canning whole tomatoes. It's nice to see our food storage grow from the food we've grown in our own backyard. Such satisfaction! Come on over for burgers and we'll top 'em with our home grown pickles!!!

Ahhh I need him to teach me how to do them!! I LOVE pickles and I, too, am picky about them. You are my gardening inspiration, haha!! Next year hopefully I'll have a yard to plant a garden in?!?! And do you have a good salsa recipe??
Oh and P.S. Maybe you should get a dickle pincher to help you can pickles. I hear they are helpful.
You are an inspiration to us all garden challenged indiviudals. Now the question is, Do you have room for all those pickles and soon to be salsa jars?
Wow, you're awesome! That looks so intimidating, I wouldn't even know where to begin. Too bad I don't live closer so I can learn how. It's awesome you have a garden! We can't because the deer would come eat everything before we could pick it.
Great job..our garden did not do well this year... we are still hoping for pumpkins.
Yum! It's a good thing you like pickles! =)
