Recovery...

Bill's surgery went really well (or as well as can be expected). He was able to come home on Tuesday night and sleep in his own bed...thank goodness! He hasn't liked having to come off the anesthesia, but he's feeling better every hour. He ended up with a massive headache, and a sore throat from being intebated. His nose is a tiny bit swollen, but there is no bruising. I also need to give a shout out to my momma! I thought I would be just fine to stay at the hosital all day alone, but realized as soon as my hubby suited up in the lovely hospital gown and booties, that I was gonna need some company and moral support. I shot a text to my mom and she cleared her calendar for the day and came straight out. I had someone to talk to and pass the time with. It was nice to have her there to eat lunch with too. Thanks mom:) I love you! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I truly have felt all of your support for him:) On a funny note...he can taste!!! In the recovery room after waking up from surgery, they gave him some red jello to try and get down so that he could take his pain meds. I was slowly getting little bites of the jello into him and he commented at least 4 times about how "tasty" the jello was. It cracked me up! He has also been breathing through his nose since he came out of surgery. So far I feel like the desired effects from all of this are actually a reality. He is feeling better all of the time and I expect him to be back to normal by next week. I am so thankful that we live in a time when physicians and technology can help us regain our quality of life.
