Just wanted to post a quick update about Bill and Bryce's hunting trip. They have been up in the mountains near Craig, Colorado since Tuesday to hunt during elk season. Bill went to the same place last year and came home empty handed, but he only went for 2 days and it was his first time. This year he took Bryce (who saved up a ton of money to purchase a hunting rifle) for the first time too. This morning Bryce got an elk and shot me text message saying it was big! We are thrilled for him! It makes the cold, wind, sleepless nights in a tent and waiting quietly for hours and hours all worth it. Our freezer is about to be extremely full! Bill has such an interest in food storage and being self-sufficient that this is one more step in that direction. We are very grateful for the opportunity have and store food for our family. Hopefully the guys remembered to get out the camera and take some pix with all of the excitement! I'll post them as soon as I get them! I imagine that they are learning right now how to field dress the animal to get it off the mountain. Luckily they are with a group of somewhat professional hunters who are willing to teach my guys all the ropes! Bryce has such a sharp eye and a steady hand that I'm actually not surprised he was able to get one. I will get all of the fun details and post them as soon as I can.

That is awesome about Bryce. I didn't know that Bill hunted. How fun for them and neat that you'll have a freezer full of meat. I'll look anxiously for some pictures.
