My Amazing Kye!

My sweet Kyle came home from school yesterday with 2 awards. We knew he had made the A/B Honor role, but he was also awarded "Student of the Trimester"! The school had an assembly where they handed out these awards and apparently he was nominated for this award by the teachers, principal and staff. What an acomplishment! We could not be more proud of him! For those of you who do not know, Kyle struggles with profound dyslexia and dysgraphia. One is difficulty with reading and the other is difficulty with writing. I have been doing a ton of research about both of these learning difficulties and it is amazing how the brain works differently for everyone. Kye has a mountain of support at school from the staff, but it was told to me at his conference that he is the most pro-active learner these teachers have ever seen. They refuse to take any credit in his success. It brought tears to my eyes to read the comments from all of his teachers this past trimester. They adore Kyle (who doesn't!!???) and he is becoming successful by his work ethic, desire to succeed and the many tools he has access to. It makes me swell with pride for him. He is proof that if you work hard at anything...you CAN succeed. Great work kiddo! Congratulations!!!!!!!

What an accomplishment! I cannot imagine how difficult it is to be able to learn with those disadvantages, let alone to be student of the trimester. Congratulations Kyle and Cee Cee!
